Oktober 3, 2024: Update for BoardCash in Logbook Suite and new version of iPhone app BoardCash
A new version of the separate iPhone app BoardCash is available in the Apple App Store. It contains BoardCash version 4.0.0.

In BoardCash 4, the calculation methods for private purchases and for expenses that do not involve the entire crew have been improved. The new calculation method works without virtual deposits. This means that only the deposits actually made appear under “Deposits”.
In the “Personal” view, the actual expenses incurred for each person, including private purchases (highlighted in color), are now listed.
All expenses can be edited in the expense dialog, including the persons etc.

April 23, 2023: Logbook Suite 2.4 and Logbook Suite PhoneTools 2.4 are released

Logbook Suite 2.4 contains various improvements as well as a new handling of PDF files on the PC, with which the PDF files are also displayed under Windows 11.

For iOS users with at least iOS/iPadOS 15 we recommend to update from the app store. It contains optimisations for iOS 15 and 16 that are not loaded with the module updates. Versions prior to iOS 15 are not supported by the update in the App Store. In this case, simply update using the update function of the manager.

On the PC, you can download Logbook Suite 2.4 using the update function of the manager. Or install the new installer (download from your store account). For Windows 11 we recommend to install the update using the installer.

June 02, 2022: Since the beginning of June there are again updated installers for Logbook Suite under macOS and Windows . The new installers are available in your store account. At the same time a new version for the iPad has been released in the Apple App Store.

The version 2.3.5 contains the Logbook Suite Manager 2.3.5, Logbook 6.1.2 and of course the latest file versions for all other modules.

With the new installer or an update from the App Store you can also easily (if not already done) update from Logbook Suite 2.2 to 2.3. Important: Just do the installation, do not delete any existing data.

Logbook Suite

May 04, 2022: Logbook Suite 2.3 is available as of today. The new version supports Logbook Pro, an extension of Logbook’s functionality available from Logbook 6.0.

Logbook Pro offers — in addition to the features included in Logbook NMEA — the already known Auto-NMEA feature, which allows to automatically record NMEA data and create automatic logbook entries, as well as the new Dark Mode.
In Dark Mode, Logbook’s views and dialogs are optimized for nighttime viewing. We designed the Dark Mode layouts with red text on a dark background, ensuring a glare-free display of the logbook even in near-total darkness.

To update to Logbook Suite 2.3, first update the Logbook Suite Manager to version 2.3.0 (using the update function of the manager). Afterwards you will also be offered the update for Logbook to version 6.0.

Logbook SuiteIn the demo mode of Logbook you can test the Auto-NMEA function and the Dark Mode for free. To use these features permanently, you need either the full version Logbook Pro or, if you already have a Logbook license, an Upgrade to Logbook Pro.

February 27, 2022: Logbook 5.4 has been extended by a new function Travel profile that allows to enter for each day and night whether the ship was underway or in port or at anchor or whether the night was not spent on board at all.
In addition, it is possible to record how many other days and nights were spent at anchor or in port during the voyage without creating a separate day in Logbook for these days.
With the help of this information Logbook determines on how many days of a voyage the ship was sailed and respectively it was at anchor or in port. Likewise the number of the nights in journey, at the anchor and in the port is determined.
The entry is made on the tab Journal. Symbols in the index indicate the status of each Logbook day. The views Trips and Overview show the totals.
You can update Logbook to the new version 5.4 using the update function in the Logbook Suite Manager. Also download our updated Logbook manual.

In addition, version 2.2 supports the import of logbooks from Logbook Lite (from version 1.0.1).
On iPad, a single continuous PDF is now created even when multiple layouts are selected.

We have also made a number of minor and major improvements to all modules of Logbook Suite. The most important new features at a glance:

  • Logbook: for up to two engines, the engine speed can be read from the NMEA data and entered into the Sail|Engine or Engines fields with each navigation entry.
  • Logbook: functions for transfer of port and fuel costs to Budget
  • Logbook: function for hiding empty lines in the navigation data for printout and PDF
  • BoardCash: function for transfer of expenses to Budget
  • Inventory: new field for expiration date. A color marker indicates the status.
  • Inventory: instead of one now four photos supported

There is also a new app for iPhone called Logbook Suite PhoneTools. With this app you can use the Add-ons BoardCash, Budget, First-Aid Kit and Inventory now also on the iPhone. Thanks to the SYNC synchronization service, the data entered in Logbook Suite PhoneTools can be easily synchronized in Logbook Suite on the iPad or PC.

Updating is more than easy:
Download the new Logbook Suite 2.2 for the PC from your shop account at shop.2k-yachting.de or – if you haven’t purchased a license yet – via the form on our website. Then run the installer.

To download the installer from your shop account select at “Instant downloads” the download button that is displayed next to your Logbook PC license. All other download buttons do not have an installer because they are valid for all platforms.
Just ignore the version number that is displayed in your account! For all versions of Logbook the download button is linked to the new installer of Logbook Suite 2.2.

You can get the iPad version as usual with iOS apps from the Apple App Store.

Your files will be updated automatically. Please note: The fully automatic update only affects files with the default names in the default data folder, other files must be manually updated to version 2.2.

Note: As always, all serial numbers for Logbook, the Add-ons purchased from our shop and all running SYNC subscriptions already are still valid.

September 9, 2020: Good news for all Logbook users who have problems with NMEA data on the iPad.
The new version 2.3 of our communication app LogbookNMEA connect can now detect errors in the NMEA data and ignore them so that the data is transferred to Logbook without errors. This is especially helpful when using the Auto-NMEA function, because NMEA data errors could lead to aborts of the data transfer to Logbook. Read more here.

July 31, 2020: A new version of the app BoardCash is available in the Apple App Store as of today. BoardCash 3.0 is fully compatible with Logbook Suite 2.0 and also supports our SYNC service. So you can comfortably make entries in BoardCash even on your iPhone.
